东莞理工学院行政楼及教学楼对山地自然环境的理解和尊重出发，尽量减少对其原始形态的破坏和影响，最大限度地将地区原生环境特质通过设计转化为场所感建筑。

行政办公楼在于将山体视为整体的有机组成部分，起伏变化的中庭顺应地势起伏，成为特色山地建筑；中庭、内院包容地貌景观特质，双廊布局是对地脉和气候作出反映；内部形成的“生态街道”空间指向主要景观区和校园中心；主入口处的“生态侧廊”作为礼仪空间的开端，显现多重性。

教学楼平面形态源于周边道路和环境，折形穿插体块不仅消减形体过长的感觉，而且强调前后入口的构成逻辑，强化了内院与校园广场的渗透，梯形内院形成理想交往场所。素混凝土遮阳格栅板创造独特的具有地域特征的建筑语言，并成为降低建筑造价的因素。

体系在“进化”，仿佛于热带丛林中的造物，架构的空灵、悬挑技艺、生长逻辑，在这片温润的地脉中衍生出一股东方的豪劲。

The administrative building and teaching building of Dongguan University of Technology start from understanding and respecting the hilly physical environment. By reducing the destruction and influence on its original form to the greatest extent, the original environment characteristics in the district are furthest transformed into a building with sense of site through design.

As for the administrative building, the mountain is regarded as its organic constituent part of the whole, and the fluctuated atrium conforms to the fluctuation of the terrain, and become a special hilly building. The atrium and internal courtyard contain geomorphologic landscape characteristics, and the dipteral layout is the reflection of geographic position and climate; the “ecological street” space formed interior directs the main landscape area and campus center; the “ecological aisle” at the main entrance is regarded as the starting of etiquette space, revealing multiplicity.

The plane form of the teaching building stems from surrounding roads and environment, the folder alternate massing not only cuts down the overlong feeling of form and structure, but stresses the composition logic of front and back entrances. The penetration between the internal courtyard and campus square is enhanced, while the ladder-shaped internal courtyard forms an ideal association place. The plain concrete sunshade grid plate creates a unique architectural language with regional characteristics, being an element of reducing the building cost.
